What are the features and benefits of the Apollo Desert Series enclosure range?

Do you have Apollo Enclosure stock in UAE?

As a Dubai Mainland registered company, we carry stock of Desert Series Outdoor Enclosures and brackets in Dubai. We have equipment in the Mainland ready to be delivered with 48 hours notice. We also have stock in the Freezone that can be shipped to other countries in MENA without VAT being added.

If you wish to place a large commercial order we can add it to our next delivery. If due to demand we are temporarily sold out of the model you wish to purchase, we can accept a deposit on back order to guarantee supply from the next shipment.

Guidelines issued by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission for television safety are clear and unequivocal: “Never expose the set to rain or water. If the TV becomes damp or wet, pull the plug and have it inspected by a service technician before further use. Rain or excessive moisture – even as the result of exposure on a back porch – may cause electrical shorts which can result in fire or shock hazards.” In other words, don’t ever place an indoor TV outdoors. Period. As a result of these guidelines, and to protect against liability in the event of a problem, every TV manufacturer, without exception, provides detailed safety instructions within every owner’s manual. Their lawyers have done a thorough job of explaining the risks associated with placing their TV outdoors. Don’t listen to us, listen to them. Installing an indoor TV in your outdoor living space is not a good idea and can cost you and not just in terms of money.

What are the special cooling features of the Apollo Desert Series Enclosures?

It is all about keeping your TV working despite the high ambient temperatures in MENA. A standard Apollo enclosure has temperature-controlled high-flow axial fans in the rear panel to draw in cool air from below and then expel the now hot air out of the rear-protected vents. The Desert Series enclosure has extra rear fans and additional cross-flow fans in the bottom of the front frame. These blow cool air between the enclosure glass and the TV glass. There is also additional protection as an internal film has been applied to the anti-glare tempered glass to protect the TV screen from harmful IR and UV solar rays.

Why Can’t I Just Put an Indoor TV Outdoors?

The most frequent objection we hear from would-be customers is that an outdoor TV enclosure costs more than the TV that it will be protecting. The refrain that we often hear is that even if an unprotected indoor TV wears down more quickly in an outdoor environment, a new TV is relatively cheap and it is more cost-effective to simply buy a new TV when the old one breaks compared to protecting a TV with a presumed expensive TV enclosure.

The logic seems pretty sound at first. The problem with that argument is that an unprotected TV not only wears down more quickly in an outdoor environment but it will be unsafe, both for the TV and for you and your family. Moreover, given the long lifespan of a high-quality enclosure and the short lifespan of an unprotected indoor TV in an outdoor environment, protecting your TV with an enclosure will prove more cost-effective in the long run. So is it worth it to spend the money on an Enclosure?
